Most training dogs would suggest that you should wait until told to go into your bed and to milk it for all its worth. I’ve found a different technique that I think works better though. Jump straight in whenever they are near – this certainly works with my humans, although I suspect they are a bit soft, especially Mike, the male one. I find that if I do that I get a lot of ‘good girls’ and extra treats out of it. It also helps to feign surprise whenever they give you one in this context. They have this thing about us being greedy, although they seem to be quite happy to go into the fridge for themselves all the time……………..
