Now, I know there is some debate about whether you should allow dogs access to beds, sofas, or to you when they like. I guess I come fairly close to the freedom extreme. My wife Linda prefers a little more decorum.
One of the things that I find most endearing about Betty is that she has learnt what is acceptable to different people and behaves accordingly.
If I’m sitting in a chair, she knows she can jump up and does so – regularly.
If Linda is sitting in a chair she sits by her awaiting permission and will only go up when she has received it.
